We’re delighted to share that Culmex Construction is proudly taking part in the BBC’s DIY SOS: The Big Build project in Feniton – an incredible opportunity to support a truly deserving family and to be part of something that embodies the very best of our industry.
For anyone who may not have come across the programme before, DIY SOS is a long-running and much-loved BBC series that unites tradespeople, suppliers, and volunteers from across the country. Together, they help transform homes and community spaces for families who are facing difficult circumstances and in need of practical, life-changing support. Few shows spotlight the power of skilled trades and teamwork quite like this one, and we’re thrilled to represent our region as part of DIY SOS Devon.
Why This Build Matters
This particular story has resonated strongly with our team. For those working within the construction and building trades, the challenges this family has faced hit especially close to home. When the call went out for support, it was immediately clear to us that we wanted to get involved – not just to lend our expertise, but to stand alongside a family whose situation demands compassion, care, and community spirit.
Projects like this remind us why we do what we do: creating safe, functional, and uplifting spaces that genuinely improve people’s lives. Being part of such a transformative initiative is both humbling and motivating.
Behind The Scenes (for now!)
As with all DIY SOS builds, much of the project remains confidential until the episode airs. We’ll be able to share a few glimpses from the site over the coming days, including putting together a YouTube video, but the full reveal will need to stay under wraps for now. Trust us – it will be worth the wait!
What we can say is how incredibly proud we are of our team. Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond is inspiring. We’re equally grateful to everyone else involved this week – the volunteers, fellow contractors, suppliers, and organisers who make these extraordinary builds possible.
